Four-year-old ref

Clara met her refereeing idol at St. George's Park

There is more to football than being a player.

The beautiful game isn’t all about kicking a ball around – there are loads more ways to get involved!

And four-year-old Clara knows how she wants to enjoy her football – and that’s as a referee!

After being inspired by young and upcoming ref Melissa Burgin at a Garforth Town match, Clara told her dad of her future ambitions.

So The FA invited Clara and her dad to St. George’s Park to watch Melissa ref an U15s international between Scotland and Wales.

Watch Clara’s day in the video player above – and if you’d like to pick up a whistle, get in touch with your local referee development officer and book yourself on a basic referees course.
